Project name

Sweetlake Meadow

Project year

2017

Project location

Shrewsbury

The Problem

Sweetlake Meadow, located in the Shropshire market town of Shrewsbury, is one of the many housing developments to fulfil the requirements of the SAMDev Plan 2006-2026. The 173 new properties developed by SJ Roberts, are served by pumping stations designed by APS, in collaboration with Severn Trent Water to ensure a smooth adoption process. The design provided the optimum solution for efficiency and maintenance.

The Solution

  • Confined space engineers installed pipework and pumps into the existing pre-case concrete chambers
  • Each pumping station is made up of an Inlet chamber, Pump chamber, Valve chamber and Flow Meter chamber
  • Incorporating 80mm and 150mm Ductile Iron pipework and valves, with Flygt pumps
  • Pumping distances of 243 and 547 metres with flows of approx. 4.0 and 30 litres/second

Until Severn Trent adopt the Sweetlake pumping stations, All Pump Solutions planned Service and Maintenance agreement will mean reliability, and reduced maintenance and budgeted costs.
