The Problem

Plans for a 900,000ft² distribution centre for Prologis and Tesco called for the widening of an existing railway bridge on the west coast main line, the installation of new track and platform, an 8m high platform retaining wall, offsite balancing ponds and a 774 space multi storey car park.

All Pump solutions were approached for a design solution which reduced the required excavation space as well as eliminating on site works so that the main contractors could maintain their zero accident and excellent Health and Safety track record. The new facility also had to support Tesco’s commitment to becoming a zero-carbon company by 2050.

The Solution

The consulting team at All Pump Solutions proposed a large, 85,000 litre prefactory fitted pumping station. All Pump Solutions’ Integrapump® patent no GB2447308 incorporates a pumping station with an integral but completely separate valve chamber, offering clean ease of access and maintenance all in a one-piece unit.
